- Ram features Hill Start Assist - Helps prevent vehicle rollback on a steep grade when the driver is transitioning from the brake to the accelerator, by automatically keeping the brakes applied briefly when the driver releases the brake pedal – an important enhancement to the Electronic Stability Control and especially beneficial on vehicles equipped with manual transmissions. Hill Start Assist aids the driver when starting a vehicle on inclines. This unique feature holds the brake for approximately one-and-a-half seconds to allow the driver to seamlessly apply throttle while releasing the clutch, for an effortless start without vehicle roll back. The brake system automatically releases when the system senses adequate wheel torque to move the vehicle forward. This feature also works when the vehicle is in the REVERSE mode on a hill and will hold the brakes for approximately three seconds.
